Roller Derby performance opportunity:  The ACT unicycle riders group, ACTURS has been offered an awesome opportunity to put on a show at half time of the Roller Derby on the evening of Saturday 29 May.  Audience numbers are expected to reach 1000 people as the match is sold out, so ACTURS are keen to put on a great performance and really raise the profile of unicycling in the ACT. The theme is Mad Stax: Beyond the Hyperdome, so riders will be performing to a Mad Max music soundtrack.

Rehearsal 1:  The usual ACTURS Wednesday evening session is cancelled this week as the school has a function on but riders can use Canberra High school for a performance planning and practice session, this Saturday sometime between mid morning and mid afternoon for 1.5 hours (time to be confirmed).

Rehearsal 2: Riders will be rehearsing at ACTURS usual session at Canberra High School between 7:00-8:30pm on Wednesday 26th May.

You will  need to make it to at least one rehearsal session and preferably both.

Sign up: To participate, please contact Cathy (cathy@tiffwat.com), as organisers need to have a good idea of numbers and skills available by next Saturday. Let Cathy know what you're best at (e.g. trials, freestyle, sumo, racing, hockey etc.), as the performance put together will depend on the skills available. There will be around 20 minutes for unicyclists to perform. It would be great to have a variety of skills. There will be some trials equipment available and other equipment can be sourced as needed.

Venue: Southern Cross Basketball Stadium, Cnr Athlon Drive and Cowlishaw Street, Tuggeranong ACT.

Time & Date : Performers - 5.15pm on 29th May, show starts at 7pm.

AUS membership/insurance: All unicyclists are invited to take part in this performance. You do not need to be a current member of ACTURS but you will need to be a member of the AUS so that you are covered by insurance.

Hockey:  Hockey matches are possible on Saturday during the day, if any interstate unicyclists are interested in coming to Canberra for the day.
