Unicyclists invited to Three Ring Circus MTB competition - Exeter NSW, July 25th

The organisers of the Three Ring Circus MTB competition at Exeter, NSW have added a new "Unicyclist" category this year, and are keen to have riders to compete in either the individual or team events.

The event is on July 25th in the Wingello state forest (between Goulburn and Moss Vale) - all the details at the event website.

Unicycling and Unicycle Hockey at Spring Cycle

Sydney Unicycle Hockey are playing some demonstration games at Spring Cycle this Sunday 27th September, at Olympic Park in Sydney.

All unicyclists are welcome to come along and join in! Bring a red and a black T-shirt if you can (and your unicycle, and gloves!)

We'll be playing from 11.00-11.40am and 1.20-2.00pm at the 'Grand Challenge Medal Area' on Olympic Boulevard, near the Novotel.

Also, at least two Sydney unicycle riders will be taking part in the Spring Cycle ride itself - the main route is 40km, from North Sydney to Homebush, so go out and cheer them on if you can!

Unicycling demonstrations for NRMA CareFlight fundraiser

The fourth annual NRMA Community CareFlight Day was held on Sunday 13 October 2009 in Tahmoor in NSW.  Jaryd Harris, Uninats 2009 Junior Champion, entertained the crowd with his unicycling skills in  demonstrations held throughout the day.   The event raised funds for the NRMA CareFlight, which operates all over NSW and assists at many tragic accidents on a daily basis. It is not restricted to rural areas and has helped save thousands of lives.  For more information about Jaryd's activities, check out his website

Unihockey & Basketball Weekend - Revesby, NSW

Ashley Curtis at Revesby Unicycle Club is organising a weekend of Hockey and Basketball for AUS members, which should be a lot of fun, and will keep everyone on their toes for Unicon.

Dates:

11:00am – 3:00pm, Sat 17 October 2009 - Unicycle Basketball Tournament

Saturday evening - social event, venue TBA

9:00am – 2:00pm, Sun 18 October 2009 - Unicycle Hockey Tournament

Where:  Revesby YMCA 184, The River Road Revesby (Sydney)

(Technically, it's called the Bankstown City YMCA!)

Cost: $25

Insurance:  Everyone competing needs to be a current financial member of the Australian Unicycle Society.

Sat Night Social

The plan for Saturday night is to go to Revesby Workers Club. It is pretty much behind the YMCA:

They have 2 restaurants in there, a posh one and Family Tables. Family Tables has food at good prices and you are not waiting around all night. They have snooker tables if people are not ready for bed.

Under 18's need to be with an adult.Dress code is not too strict, just no torn jeans/cloths, no thongs, no singlets.

Revesby YMCA has showers for those going straight to the workers club.

AUS Memberships

Memberships run 1 July -  30 June, so if you only have joined the A.U.S for one year then your membership would have expired. You can renew  online or at the event. A 3 month temporary membership is also available.

Full moon drumming, dancing and fire twirling

Friday 10th April 2009, 7pm to whenever
North Beach, Wollongong, where the bronze statue is.

Howl at the moon! Its full and the time for stuff is ripe. What stuff I hear you ask? Drumming, Fire Twirling and Dancing. Whatever you dig.  Bring a friend or five, pack a bunch of smiles and do your thing. A mix of amateurs, professionals and you. Family friendly, everyone friendly. Participate as much or as little as you like. Bring a drum, bring your dancing feet, bring something to play with or laze back and soak up the happy vibe. See the map for the location:
